On November 25, 2023, the International Medical and Taiwan Gynecological Tumor Ablation Medical Seminar was held in Qili Resort, Luye Township, Taitung County.

This medical academic exchange event is a rare event in Taitung, where nearly 100 experts and scholars from the Asia-Pacific region gathered to discuss the latest tumor ablation technologies, including HIFU, microwave and radio frequency.

Taitung County Mayor Jao Qingling and County Council President Wu Xiuhua and other local leaders attended the conference and extended their congratulations.

Professor Cheng Chengjie, president of Taiwan Society for Gynecological Tumor Ablation and president of Taipei Xiuchuan Hospital, said that noninvasive ablation technology for gynecological tumors is changing with each new day. In 2009, he introduced focused ultrasound (commonly known as HIFU) for the first time in the hospital affiliated to Taipei Medical University, so he was known as the "father of HIFU Medicine" in Taiwan.

At present, nearly one-third of the 6,000 treatment cases in Taiwan Province are performed by Professor Zheng Chengjie himself. Up to now, 18 hospitals in Taiwan Province have provided this advanced medical service, including the Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital, Taoyuan Changgeng Hospital, Sun Yat-sen Medical University Hospital and China Medical University Hospital.
