About the hospital

Founded in 1944, the Guangdong Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital is a professional public institution for maternal and child health care under the Guangdong Provincial Government. It is always committed to conducting public benefit activities and maintaining industry leadership. After more than 70 years of development, the hospital has become a large grade A tertiary hospital that integrates healthcare, medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, training and technical guidance. In 2013, with the approval of the higher-level authorities, the hospital was also branded as the Guangdong Provincial Maternity Hospital and the Guangdong Provincial Children's Hospital,  It is currently a teaching or affiliated hospital of eight ministerial and provincial universities, including Sun Yat-sen University, Jinan University and Guangzhou Medical University. In addition, it has established a strategic partnership with Boston Children's Hospital at Harvard Medical School, which is ranked number one in the United States.

The hospital has 2,097 employees. The number of healthcare technicians accounts for more than 90% of the total number of employees. It has 330 employees with deputy senior professional titles or above, 639 employees with master's or doctoral degrees, 30 master's supervisors and 10 doctoral supervisors. The hospital also has more than 180 employees who serve as the chairman or deputy chairman of professional committees of national and provincial academic institutions. A knowledgeable, young and professional team has been gradually formed. The hospital had 2.62 million outpatient visits, discharged 59,000 patients, and performed 26,800 inpatient operations and 16,200 child deliveries in 2017. The hospital is proactively adapting to the new normal of development and seizing development opportunities. It will strive to improve its hardware such as buildings and equipment, software such as technology and talents, as well as the research and development of highly sophisticated core technologies. About the department

Featuring minimally invasive endoscopic techniques, the Department of Gynecology of the Guangdong Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital was included in the first batch of endoscopic training bases under the Ministry of Health in 2007. It was also included in the first batch of training bases for level IV gynecological endoscopy techniques under the Ministry of Health in 2011. The department was rated as a key clinical department in Guangdong Province in 2011. It is also a technical guidance unit for the screening, prevention and treatment of stage II cervical cancer in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. It is also a guiding unit for the Reproductive Health and Wellness Program in Guangdong Province and a key department of integrated Chinese and Western medicine in Guangdong Province. It has now developed into a large general department integrating clinical work, scientific research and teaching. It has a team of experts with advanced theories and extensive clinical experience.

Director of the Gynecology Department, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor and an academic leader.

He is a member of the International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy (ISGE), a board member of the Asia-Pacific Association for Minimally Invasive Gynecology and Obstetrics and a member of the Collaborative Group for Cervical Cancer Prevention and Treatment. He is the Deputy Head of the Common Diseases Group of the Maternal and Child Health Committee of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, a member of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and the Vice Chairman of the Gynecological Tumor Prevention and Treatment Committee of the China Maternal and Child Health Association. He is a standing member of the Chinese Gynecological Endoscopy Technical Examination Committee, a member of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and the Expert Committee of the Energy Branch of the Chinese Academy of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee of the China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Medical and Healthcare, a member of the Chinese Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (CSCCP), and the Vice Chairman of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee of the Guangdong Medical Association. He is the Vice Chairman of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee of the Guangdong Medical Doctor Association, the Head of the Gynecology Group of the Maternal and Child Health Committee of the Guangdong Medical Association, and the Deputy Head of the Gynecological Endoscopy Group of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee of the Guangdong Medical Association. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Committee for Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases of the Female Genital Tract of the Guangdong Maternal and Child Health Association and a member of the Gynecologic Oncology Group of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee of the Guangdong Medical Association.

He specializes in the minimally invasive treatment of malignant tumors and the treatment of menstrual disorders and reproductive tract malformations.


Research achievements:

He has led and participated in more than ten scientific research projects at the provincial level and above and has obtained five national patents as well as a second prize and a third prize of the Science and Technology Progress in Guangdong Province. He has published more than 50 scientific papers, including SCI. He also serves as an editorial board member of the Chinese Journal of Practical Gynecology and Obstetrics, Guangdong Medicine, the Journal of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Genetics, and the International Journal of Medicine and Health.
