Established in 1951, Dongguan City Maternal & Child Health Hospital is a grade A tertiary maternal and child healthcare facility that integrates medical treatment, healthcare, scientific research, teaching and basic guidance. The hospital covers an area of 100 mu (one mu equals to about 666㎡), with a construction area of more than 68,000 square meters. About the department：

As a prominent medical department in Dongguan, the Gynecology Department is famous for hysteroscopy and gynecologic laparoscopy in the city. It covers minimally invasive gynecology, general gynecology, gynecologic oncology and gynecological endocrinology. The department has 15 doctors and 28 nurses, including 7 staff with senior professional titles, 1 master’s supervisor, 5 master’s degree holders and 3 chief nurses. The department has 116 beds. It receives more than 150,000 outpatient visits and treats more than 25,000 patients per year.

The Gynecology Department is well-known throughout the city for its hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery. The number of gynecological laparoscopic operations accounts for 78.5% of the number of all types of operations performed in this department throughout the year. The department boasts extensive experience in minimally invasive gynecological surgery such as laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, self-coagulation knife and vaginal surgery. Various gynecologic inflammatory diseases, endometriosis, infertility and gynecologic endocrine diseases can be treated in the department. Ectopic pregnancy can be treated conservatively and surgically. Reproductive tract malformations and injuries can be treated. Pelvic floor dysfunction (urinary incontinence, etc.) can also be treated. Family planning procedures can also be performed in this department. The department has developed routine treatment plans for common gynecological tumors and achieved good results. In particular, its diagnosis, treatment and care of cervical and ovarian cancers are rather advanced in China.
