Established in 1941, the Department of Gynecology of the People's Hospital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is a key department of the hospital and one of the main departments constituting the Guangxi Provincial Minimally Invasive Surgery Center. The department was included in the first batch of level IV gynecological endoscopic surgery training bases by the Ministry of Health in 2011. It is also a training center for minimally invasive treatment in Guangxi Province. It became a key department of maternal and child health services and a key clinical department in Guangxi Province in 2018. The department has a total of 97 medical workers, including 7 chief physicians, 14 associate chief physicians, 8 attending physicians and 10 resident physicians. There are 3 doctoral degree holders, 19 master's degree holders and 2 master's degree supervisors. Zhao Renfeng is a chief physician and master's supervisor. He is currently the Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as the Department of Gynecology and the Secretary of the Party General Branch of the hospital. He is also the Head of the level IV gynecological endoscopy training base of the Ministry of Health in Guangxi Province. He is the Deputy Director of the Minimally Invasive Center in Guangxi Province, a member of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee of the Chinese Medical Association and a member of the Endoscopy Group. He is a member of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee and a standing member of the Endoscopist Committee of the Chinese Medical Association, as well as a member of the Oncology Committee. He is a member of the Endometriosis Committee, a member of the NOTES Minimally Invasive Medicine Expert Committee of the World Association of Chinese Obstetricians and Gynecologists and an expert member of the 4th Committee of the China and Asia Pacific Association of Minimally Invasive Gynecological Oncology. He conducted advanced studies at the University of Siena medical school in Italy. He has led several provincial and ministerial research projects and has published more than 80 academic papers.
